For someone who is interested in laser vision correction, the first step is to schedule a free, no obligation LASIK screening. Through a series of tests and measurements, our team will determine which procedure, if any, you qualify for.
Our LASIK team will take measurements using both the Oculus Pentacam HR and the WaveScan Wavefront System. The Oculus Pentacam HR performs high resolution imaging and optimized optics to achieve perfect image quality. Its camera rotates 360 degrees to generate information in three dimensions. During the measuring sequence, a total of 25,000 data points are collected, including the center of the cornea. Other imaging devices on the market do not see and therefore cannot measure the center of the cornea. This sophisticated technology provides our patients a unique advantage in terms of accuracy and precision.
The WaveScan Wavefront System creates a 3D map of your eye to identify surface irregularities and variation. The mapping process determines up to 200 different prescription points on your eye. This data is downloaded into the laser which corrects these 200 prescription points, giving your eyes a completely personal and customized treatment.
The goal of any refractive surgical procedure is to reduce your dependence on corrective lenses. However, we cannot guarantee you will have 20/20 vision as a result. Our commitment to you is that we will not perform laser vision correction on you or anyone we feel does not have a good possibility of achieving independence from glasses and contacts. The vast majority of our patients are extremely happy with their results and can do most activities without dependence on corrective lenses after laser vision correction.
